Keeping a motorcycle in its best condition all boils down to regular maintenance. It must be done on a routine schedule and not skipped so you can get the most out of your bike. Here are 10 tips to help you on keeping your bike in running condition.

Change Fluids

Be sure that you are changing the oil and fluids in the bike as the manufacturer recommends. The fluids can get dirty and cause problems if you do not.

Replace Broken Parts

If something is breaking on your bike, it’s best to fix it. Don’t leave it to get worse when you can easily purchase parts such as aftermarket Honda motorcycle parts.

Check Your Tires

Don’t forget to check the tires regularly as well. Wear and tear can make them less able to control the bike as it should.

Professional Inspection

If you’re not a mechanic yourself, be sure to have a thorough inspection of your bike at least once a year.

Brake Inspection

Be sure that you check your brakes every 6,000 miles or so. They can wear down over time and can cause problems when you need to stop. Be sure they are ready to go when you are.

Inspect the Chain

Be sure that the chain is inspected when you have an annual checkup. It made need to be loosened or tightened, or it could need to be replaced altogether.

Is Your Battery Good?

Double check the battery as well to make sure it is getting a charge as it needs to. You do not want to be stranded somewhere due to a battery now working as it should.

Spark Plugs Inspection

Also look at your spark plugs and make sure they are all in good working order. You can purchase Yamaha replacement parts, including spark plugs, to make sure that they are working as they should.

Fork Oil

Don’t forget about the fork oil on your bike. This helps to keep your bike riding smoothly and protected from the terrain you’re on.

These also should be changed on a regular basis. You can even upgrade to a K&N filter when changing them out to boost your output.
